Halloween Happenings

On Monday, October 31st, students are invited to dress in their Halloween costumes.  Please send your child to school dressed in their costume for the whole day.  Costumes that include weapons or are of a violent or gory nature are not permitted.

During the afternoon students will participate in Halloween activities.

Mabel's Labels

Each month at Westgate, several unlabeled items are brought to the lost and found. You can help us reduce the number of items in the school's Lost and Found, and earn money for Westgate! Westgate School Council has launched a fundraising program with Mabel's Labels, a company that provides durable personalized stickers at an affordable price.

Some items such as the peel and stick labels are dishwasher and washer safe, so you can use them on water bottles, sweaters, gloves, and hats! As an added benefit, Westgate School keeps 20% of all orders. Please help us by using these great labels on ALL the items you send to school with your kids.

Calgary Flames Grade 6 YMCA Program

The YMCA Calgary and Calgary Flames Foundation for Life have teamed up to offer free YMCA memberships to all grade 6 students across the city.

On Thursday, October 6th, David Francis, a Youth Co-ordinator from the YMCA visited the grade 6 classes at Westgate to promote this free membership opportunity.
